Kasper De Vos

Kasper De Vos's artistic practice is deeply rooted in engaging with societal issues through the playful manipulation of natural materials. Working primarily with found materials and ready-mades, De Vos’s installations challenge cultural perceptions and consumerism by combining unconventional objects in vibrant and imaginative ways. From sandwiches repurposed as tables to sculpted tree trunks, his sculptures—using materials like cork, beeswax, rope, textile, plaster, and wood—challenge our perceptions of value and utility, inviting us to reconsider our relationships with objects, consumption, and society itself.

De Vos gathers materials and ideas organically, incorporating classical sculptural forms into contemporary combinations, embracing surprise, and salvaging social remnants as key elements of his artistic process. He creates colorful and uncanny environments where collages, drawings, and sculptures come together to explore everyday absurdities. These consist of miniature utopian mock-ups and works on paper, classified as studies for future sculptures. In his work, De Vos transforms found and frequently perishable materials and everyday objects into humorous reflections on the intersections between culture and consumerism.
