For its first participation in Art Brussel, Newchild presents "Half-Light", a group exhibition featuring works by Madeleine Bialke, Yoo Geun-Taek, Caleb Hahne Quintana, Konstantina Krikzoni, Ella McVeigh, Christopher Page, Andrew Sendor, Khushna Sulaman-Butt, Kristian Touborg and Brittney Leeanne Williams.
In 'Half-Light', deeper truths lie beyond the surface. Upon closer observation, the exhibited works harness quiet observation and representation while their illusory borders define or blur what lies within and outside the frames.
The curation of the exhibition evokes the experience of meandering through a formal garden where with each step taken, new layers emerge. The artworks are an immersion in shadows, reflections, portals, and staged realities, all individually exploring the boundaries we create physically or psychologically. They present portals of constructed universes informed by personal histories, observation of nature and deeper reflections about the integrity and veracity of our perception.
